Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to the Mississippi e-Center at Jackson State University. This unique facility offers opportunities for business, governmental, and educational technology leaders in Mississippi to explore cutting edge information technologies to enhance the productivity of their workforces. It provides a location and resources to conduct both on-site and virtual conferences, workshops, and general meetings. The MS e-Center@JSU also is establishing a comprehensive array of technology-based workforce certificate programs to assist in enhancing the technical workforce in the region. In additions, the MS e-Center@JSU also has a state-of-the-art innovation center to assist in the development of start-up companies.
The success of the MS e-Center@JSU will be determined by four factors. First, the MS e-Center@JSU must be effective in accelerating technology transfer and commercialization of faculty research by providing the necessary infrastructure. Secondly, the business community must view the MS e-Center@JSU as a strategic partner in bridging faculty, business, workforce and other stakeholder interests to future trends. Thirdly, the community – including its government – will value the MS e-Center@JSU as a means for supporting local and state economic development by linking university and civic interests. Lastly, the Mississippi e-Center@JSU can assist local businesses in becoming global enterprises through cyber infrastructure and enhanced business development.
